Refurbishing old aircraft in “a hobby out of control” is the passion of retired aircraft engineer Don Subritzky. In an obsession that started with the rescue of a crashed Tiger Moth when he was an apprentice. Don with the support of his family and active help of his engineer son Steve now has three hangars stuffed with vintage aircraft, among them a rare 1940 Airspeed Oxford, 1930s Vickers Vincent, 1934 Hawker Hind and 1951 Gloster Meteor, the first British fighting jet. Not to mention the numerous bits and pieces rescued from farms and out of which whole planes will eventually be formed.
