Make a portable barbecue PDF Print E-mail
Written by WAYNE FERGUSON

bbqThis one-off original design is ready to be used at picnics, home barbecues or wherever you want to travel. The two rack supports detach easily and the whole thing needs no instruction manual to run. This hibachi or portable barbecue is ideal for just two although the grill rack is big enough for four or five steaks or chops and sausages.

I made it with scrap mild steel plate and a piece of cut pipe, some flat bar for the legs and rod for the handles. For sources, you could check out scrap bins at your local engineering works because most pieces of metal under a metre seem to go in there.

I started the design with the wire rack where you cook everything. Once I knew the 300 x 500 mm insert wire grill rack was the basis, I took everything from there.
