Sitting pretty

I discovered some 40mm square light steel tube that I had purchased for another job that didn’t go ahead and I thought it would make a good outdoor bench. I had considered making one out of the 3mm thick, 40mm square tube that I have used previously but I realised that it would be impossibly heavy and I wanted something that could be moved relatively easily. At first I considered making it square at each end but as I developed the idea it tended to grow in sophistication as these things tend to and before long I was incorporating a back. I didn’t want a bench with a straight back, it’s not a church pew, which meant I would have to extend the back leg to prevent it toppling over.
